Zydrate Comes in a Little Glass Vial...

As a happy participant in the Alternatice Curves group, I was stoked for May's challenge:
Cult Movies!
Beyond the initial enthusiasm, however, was a lot of indecision. Most of the movies that I love are cult movies, to the point where I didn't realize they were considered such. After many long hours of debate, I settled on Shilo Wallace from Repo! The Genetic Opera as this month's muse. Here is the picture I used for inspiration:

Here is my tribute!

dress: thrift score
necklace: Amazon
boots: Target
I had made some gloves, but I ended up leaving them at home. Oh well!

We decided to do this shoot in a graveyard. Who knows, maybe we will run into the GraveRobber!

This is probably my favorite picture from the whole day.

I'm just gonna roll around in the grass now

This tombstone is a tree! This tree is a tombstone!

I really wish I could have gotten a better shot with these flowers. They were so pretty!!

My daughter is trying to pretend that I am not dancing too close to her.

I've been outside too long. #PlaguedByNature

So there you have it! A lovely day filled with lovely people, living and dead.

Walking Dead Pilgrimage (southern location edition)

The fam and I decided to take a Memorial Day trip to Senoia Georgia to visit the Walking Dead set.

"The perfect setting. For life."

Main Street, Woodbury

We ate at the charming Senoia Cafe, AKA "Woodbury Coffee House".

The staff here is wonderful, and they make a mean frappuccino, which I promptly inhaled rather than taking pictures of. (whoops!)

Reasonably priced, perfectly dark specialty blended coffee

If you visit, I highly recommend stopping by the official store/museum.
Upstairs is a normal themed shop, and when you go downstairs, they have a free museum to wander through.

They have a replica of the doors from episode 1
Dont dead, open inside?

Me, in the prison cell
livin the good life

The cast even came by and autographed the walls! To save time, I compiled my favorites into a 15 second video clip.

I felt like Carol deserved a moment on her own, however.

Too soon, Carol. Too soon.

The museum lets out into the Walking Dead Cafe, which is essentially a fancy Starbucks.
me and the hubs

We poked around town a bit, and were able to find Milton's lab! Unfortunately, it was locked up pretty tight, so no pictures of the inside.

Remember the walker filled tunnel that Glenn went through on their way to Terminus? Turns out it was a set that was build around a bridge. This bridge.

okay so it is mostly a picture of me. but that is why you are here, right?

We snuck past the guards and managed to get this shot of the church tower in Alexandria before being kicked out.

I love that they have plaques on the sidewalk

Later in the day we stopped in Haralson to visit the site where Merle became a walker.
We decided not to take the tour because we wanted to move at our own pace. Apparently we weren't supposed to do that though, and were asked to leave.

I spent most of the day going where I wasn't supposed to

Next we stopped in Sharpsburg. This town is TINY! Most of the buildings on Main Street are used as storage for the auction house.

right: the saloon (Herschel loves booze)

Okay can I just take a moment to point out that there are birdhouses on the telephone wires in front of the pharmacy?!? So. Stinkin. Cute.

In Grantville, we wanted to explore Morgan's apartment. We were actually pretty stoked to take the tour here, since there was so much to look at.

Away With You

We went to Z is for Zombie to try and buy tickets to tour Morgan's apartment. The door was locked and no sign, but a local told us she had gone across the street. We walked over to Morgan's apartment, and there was a group of people who were looking for her as well. We all went upstairs, where there was an unmanned reception desk.
Since we were already there, we went ahead and explored.

have a coke with Morgan!

here I am with my new boyfriend

Eventually, the owner showed up and yelled at us for being there. We explained what happened, and inquired about taking an official tour, but the woman was so rude that we ended up just leaving.

All in all, it was a lovely day filled with fun and lots of trespassing.
To recap, here are the places that I was kicked out of.
